Unidos En Cristo is a renwal movement based on the Cursillo model developed in the 1940's. It involves participation in a there-day weekend retreat featuring talks about various aspects of the Christian life and a wide variety of worship experiences.

Many of those who have parpicipated in this retreat weekend have experinced a much-deepened spiritual life and a renewed commitment to Jesus Christ. Arlington Hills' Unidos En Cristo community is growing with more and more persons having participated in this weekend experience. Arlington Hills United Methodist Church is an active participant in the Unidos En Cristo movement. Unidos En Cristo is an ecumenical approach to the Cursillo movement, a spiritual retreat experience originated by the Roman Catholic Church. Those participating in Unidos En Cristo attend a three-day weekend retreat and then enter the "Fourth Day" community, those who have been through the retreat. Other Cursillo-type experiences include The Walk to Emmaus, a United Methodist denominational program, and Via de Cristo, a program sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The Arlington Hills Unidos En Cristo community meets monthly for fellowship and spiritual renewal.
