Our mission is to conduct
programs of mission related
activities that provide
opportunities
for mission
participation by all segments
of our church
family.
In our annual budget we support the three local ethnic minourity Methodist Churches,
the Union Gospel Mission, the Emma Norton Residence, and a number of other local
service organizations.
On a contingency basis we support national and world emergancies as they arise, within
the constraints of our available resources. In the first half of the year 2000, this support
has amounted to about $17,000, due to the unusally great needs at this time.
Some members of our congregation work in the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)
warehouse in Baldwin, La. during January each year. This is our denomination's primary
organization for dealing with emergancy needs, both domestic and overseas. For more information
about the current activities of UMCOR, go to their website at:
Our YOUTH program is also deeply mission oriented so be sure to look
at the youth page in this site.
